
Architect
Bilge Kalfa
Bilge Kalfa is a Berlin-based architect who received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Istanbul Technical University’s Faculty of Architecture. With over 15 years of experience, she has expertise in all phases of architectural and interior design projects, as well as furniture design. Since 2018, she has been practicing in Berlin and is also the co-owner of The Keep, an artisanal rug company. Before relocating to Berlin, she completed numerous projects of varying scales in Istanbul, such as the Moda Sahnesi and Boğaziçi University, with her previous business partner.
Bilge’s furniture and rug designs have been showcased at prominent international design events, including Dubai, Berlin, and Copenhagen Design Weeks.
Her group project Intensive Care Collective was also shortlisted for the Venice Architectural Biennale National Pavilion. Her works has been published in architectural magazines like ArchDaily, Dezeen, and A19. She has been an adjunct professor at Berlin International Univesity and leading the design studio for six years and currently runs her own design studio in Berlin
